JOB DETAILS:
Hundreds of Army missions depend on aircraft for transport, patrol and flight training. It's up to the members of the aircraft repair team to ensure that all Army aircraft remain safe and ready to fly. As an integral member of this team, the Apache Attack Helicopter Systems Repairer is primarily responsible for supervising and performing field and sustainment level maintenance on Apache Attack Helicopters.
Some of your duties as an Apache Attack Helicopter Systems Repairer may include:
-Operate and perform unit level maintenance on automatic test equipment and repairs electronic equipment, printed circuit boards and modules
-Prepare appropriate maintenance forms and records
-Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions within automatic test equipment at the unit repair level
-Repair automatic test equipment and subassemblies by adjusting, aligning, repairing and/or replacing defective components at unit level maintenance
-Conduct performance testing, alignment and repair on optical targeting components
Job training for an Apache Attack Helicopter Systems Repairer requires nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 39 weeks of Advanced Individual Training and on-the-job instruction, including inspection and repair of aircraft electronic and equipment. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field. Some of the skills you'll learn are:
Read technical diagrams and manuals in order to locate, isolate, and repair complex electronic equipment
Replace equipment parts such as resistors, switches and circuit boards

Advanced level Apache Attack Helicopter System Repairers provide guidance, supervise and train other Soldiers within the same discipline. As an advanced level Attack Helicopter Repairer, you may be involved in:
-Perform direct and general support level maintenance on electronic test facility
-Troubleshoot automatic test equipment at direct and general support maintenance level and repair automatic test equipment at direct support maintenance level
-Request and maintain authorized bench stock of repair parts, supplies and technical publications
